Water Treatment Products

Q

What are the main differences between residential and commercial water treatment equipment?

+

A

The primary distinctions lie in flow rate (tons per hour) and UV dose. Residential units typically handle smaller volumes (1-3 tons/hour) for daily drinking and household use, while commercial/industrial equipment processes larger flows (up to hundreds of tons) for centralized water disinfection in hotels, schools, food processing, swimming pools, and similar applications.

Q

Can UV water treatment systems remove chlorine and heavy metals from water?

+

A

No. UV primarily disinfects by killing microorganisms. It is a physical process that does not alter water's chemical properties (such as residual chlorine, hardness, or heavy metal content). For such requirements, we recommend a combined process of “pre-treatment filter cartridges (e.g., activated carbon) + UV,” purifying the water first before disinfection.

Q

Does water quality (e.g., hardness, turbidity) affect disinfection efficacy?

+

A

Yes. Highly hard water tends to form scale deposits on the outer surface of quartz sleeves, while highly turbid water obstructs UV penetration. Both significantly reduce sterilization efficiency. We strongly recommend: For poor water quality, install a pre-filter (e.g., water softener, sand filter) and regularly clean or replace the quartz sleeve.
